Job Overview and Requirements

Portnoff Law Associates, Ltd. seeks an experienced Writ of Execution Paralegal to join our team.

We are looking for an organized individual with experience working in a high-volume practice drafting motions and pleadings, preparing correspondence, and conducting investigative skip tracing.

The ideal candidate will be experienced, dependable, detail-oriented, and possess excellent time management and interpersonal communication skills.  

*This position will have a hybrid work schedule (in office/remote)*

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
  • Preparation of at least 10 Writs of Execution per week.
  • Updating Collection Partner (Hubbard) and the Sheriff Sale list with all Writ of Execution information.
  • Review title searches for any potential ownership issues.
  • Email Notice of Sale service packets to process server.
  • Review and update Returns of Service.
  • Research potential service addresses when service at last known address is not obtained.
  • Continue or Stay Sheriff Sales as needed.
  • Handle all follow-up for Stayed Sales, such as processing any refunds of costs from the sheriff.
  • Prepare and mail correspondence to property owners.
  • Handle telephone calls from property owners or other third parties regarding Sheriff Sales.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • One (1) or more years of prior paralegal experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a team while maintaining professional working relationships with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Initiative, including strong follow-up skills.
  • Receptive to feedback at all levels.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Must demonstrate skills of poise, diplomacy and tact.
  • PC Proficient: Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), WordPerfect, Collection Partner (Hubbard) and Internet.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills.
  • Continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials as well as establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Dependable, with strong work ethic and personal integrity.

 

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) or three (3) plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
