Direct Care Associate

Hourly pay: $19.09/hr

$2.50/hr shift differential for evenings, overnights, and weekends

Part-time Schedules:

Every other Saturday and Sunday 12a - 8:30a; and scheduled Holidays

The Regional Supervised Housing Program reduces the length of stay in local and state psychiatric facilities by providing a living environment that will maximize the individual's opportunities and independence by providing quality support, training, and individualized services to individuals with severe mental illness and possible co-occurring substance use disorder. Staff work closely with the individual to engage them in treatment such as psychiatric, substance use, medical, and any other treatment the individual may need. Staff also assist with applications for financial and medical benefits and with obtaining a day activity such as psychosocial program participation, partial hospitalization, vocational programs, volunteer opportunities, or employment.

The Direct Care Associate is responsible for providing direct care and supervision of individuals who are seriously mentally ill and/or co-occurring substance use disorder in an intensive supervised residential home toward maintaining community placement and assisting the Program Supervisor in providing direct service.

As a Direct Care Associate, you will assist with monitoring individuals' behaviors and medical conditions, dispensing medication, assisting individuals with daily living activities, meal preparation, and housekeeping.

Requirements: One year of direct care experience working with adults with serious mental illness, CNA a plus. Valid Virginia Driver's License.


The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
