What would you do as a Direct Care Associate - Regional Supervised Housing - Part-time RU 580

The Community Services Associate II plays a vital role in supporting individuals facing serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders within an intensive supervised residential home. This position involves providing direct care and supervision, focusing on maintaining community placement and promoting successful integration and rehabilitation. Collaborating closely with the Program Supervisor, you'll assist in delivering direct service treatment and case coordination while meticulously monitoring and documenting client progress. Your responsibilities will also include conducting individual and group development training on essential independent living skills and recreational activities.

By monitoring special medical conditions, such as seizures and diabetes, and maintaining orderly confidential files, you will ensure the immediate health and welfare of each client. Additionally, you'll perform essential household services that contribute to both client care and the overall upkeep of the facility, making a genuine impact on the lives of those you serve.

To excel as a Community Services Associate II, several key skills and qualifications are essential. A minimum of one year of direct care experience working with adults facing serious mental illness is required, enabling you to understand the unique challenges these individuals face. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is a plus, showcasing your dedication to the field. You must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build trusting relationships with clients and collaborate effectively with team members.

Proficiency in client documentation and coordination tools is also necessary for monitoring progress accurately. A valid Driver's License is crucial, as you will be responsible for transporting clients as needed. Finally, your ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and adaptability will be instrumental in guiding clients toward successful community integration and promoting their overall well-being.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • One year of direct care experience working with adults with serious mental illness
  • CNA a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License. Transports clients as necessary.
