About the role:
The Real Estate Loan Processor receives first mortgage and home equity files from Sales, processes the loans, obtains a clear to close, sets up loans, and follows-up on outstanding items or concerns.
Compensation starts at $22.55 per hour for Real Estate Loan Processor I.
The details:
- Balance the two different loan types and varying pipelines to ensure that all loans are completed in a timely manner with a focus on exceptional member service.
- Maintain expertise in each loan type, associated systems, and processes.
- Efficiently manage a pipeline of first mortgages and equity loans and lines within expected turn times provided in annual goals.
- Communicate with members, Sales, vendors, and Underwriting during the entire loan process through closing.
- Collect required documentation from a borrower or third-party to prepare it for underwriting by reviewing the file, reviewing conversation logs, and analyzing the file for missing documentation.
- Act as a liaison between borrower, underwriter, sales, realtors, title companies, and all other parties involved in each transaction.
- Analyze and evaluate documentation provided by borrowers. This includes: ensuring that overall documents are accurate, complete, and compliant; calculating income; and reviewing financial statements, credit reports, applicable ratios, and other supporting documentation for acceptability.
- Ensure that files meet investor guidelines, are complete, and comply with regulations and policies.
- Clear to close equity loan files within defined authority.
- Schedule loan closings and communicate closing information to borrowers, Sales, and vendors.
- Make recommendations for procedural and policy changes to increase efficiency.
- Work with assigned outside sales mortgage originators, including communication and/or paperwork.
- Respond to audit findings. Provide any necessary supporting documents and resolve post close and quality control issues related to loan processing.
- Perform other duties as directed by leadership.
What’s needed:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of loan processing experience (first mortgage and/or home equity) or related experience in a financial/lending institution.
- Proficiency using Excel and Word
Compensation starts at $24.23 per hour for Real Estate Loan Processor II.
They should have:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of loan processing experience (first mortgage and/or home equity) or related experience in a financial/lending institution.
- Proficiency using Excel and Word.
Compensation starts at $26.11 per hour for Real Estate Loan Processor III.
They should have:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of loan processing experience (first mortgage and/or home equity) or related experience in a financial/lending institution.
- Proficiency using Excel and Word.
They will also be responsible for:
- Assisting Management in the training of new processing staff (both first mortgage and equity lending skill sets). Provide ongoing coaching. Communicate results with the Manager.
- Handling complex transactions like first mortgage files with a simultaneous second and first mortgage files exceeding $1 million loan amounts with expertise in the rules related to such transactions.
- Processing Construction Draw first mortgage loans and assist/manage the draw phase and transition to amortizing loan engaging outside services and underwriting as needed.
