SUMMARY

Join our dynamic team as an R&D Project and Compliance Specialist, where you'll lead process improvement initiatives, oversee innovative scale-up projects, and ensure strict adherence to labeling and regulatory requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verify that all product labels meet federal, state, and industry-specific regulations as well as internal standards, ensuring accuracy and legality.
  • Examine and authorize label designs to ensure they contain correct product details, ingredient lists, allergen warnings, nutritional facts, and other necessary information.
  • Continuously monitor and stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Keep thorough records of all labeling activities, including label designs, approvals, regulatory certificates, and compliance documents for audit and reference purposes.
  • Support both internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing compliance questions to demonstrate adherence to regulations.
  • Offer expertise and advice to internal teams on regulatory requirements and labeling best practices, helping to resolve any compliance-related issues.
  • Analyze current manufacturing processes to pinpoint inefficiencies and areas for enhancement, then develop and apply strategies to optimize productivity and quality.
  • Oversee the scaling up of production trials from pilot to full-scale manufacturing, ensuring that new products meet quality standards and are launched successfully into the market.
  • Manage pilot projects in the development of new products, coordinating resources, timelines, and cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and milestones.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication with R&D, quality assurance, production, and other departments to address and resolve compliance issues and improve processes.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations for alcohol and caffeine beverages, utilizing established sensory techniques to assess flavor, texture, aroma, and visual attributes.
  • Collect, analyze, and document sensory data, providing insights and recommendations for product development and improvement. Ability to participate in sensory testing for Alcohol and Caffeine beverages.
  • Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure sensory attributes align with product specifications and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

Skills/ Knowledge:

Possesses basic and advanced skills, with a thorough understanding of process flow. Strong attention to detail and proficiency in ensuring accurate labeling information. Knowledgeable in ESHA Genesis, FDA food labeling, and Lean Six Sigma. Experienced in sensory evaluation techniques, including consumer tests and descriptive analysis, with a strong understanding of beverage products' flavor, texture, aroma, and visual attributes. Engages in ongoing education and professional growth to stay updated with industry trends and best practices.


Computer Skills:

The ability to work effectively in a Microsoft Windows environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, and internal software programs), with advanced presentation skills and the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets.


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred with 4-6 years of experience in the beverage or food industry. Strong attention to detail and project management skills, along with knowledge of labeling regulations and standards applicable to the food and beverage industry. Familiarity with FDA, USDA etc., regulatory body requirements and Lean Six Sigma techniques. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and regulatory compliance software is also required.
