Position Summary:

The Accounting Specialist will provide accounting support to major financial accounting areas, including general ledger accounting and account reconciliations. Other responsibilities include backup withholding calculations and federal reporting.

Responsibilities:

· Emulate SSB&T Core Values

· Understand credit and debits to the accounting system in support of general ledger work

· Develop and maintain reports and files on the general ledger system

· Input general ledger entries for accounting changes

· Develop and maintain reports and files on asset and liability account balances

· Ensure accurate balancing from a financial institution perspective

· Develop and maintain regular reports via the bank’s accounting system

· Daily/Weekly/Monthly Account Reconciliations

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

· Accounting Experience Required

· High School Diploma or GED

· College Degree Preferred

· Excels in Mathematical Skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office

· Calculator & typing skills

· Communication & administrative skills

· Organization & time management skills

· Deadline-Oriented
