This position offers a unique opportunity to inspire and educate students in an immersive and engaging environment. As a teacher in our programs, you will play a crucial role in fostering a love for the Chinese language and culture among young learners. We provide teachers with a rich and comprehensive curriculum to engage young learners.
What you will do:
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and activities that promote language acquisition and cultural understanding.
Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment conducive to language immersion, where students of all backgrounds feel respected, valued, and included, celebrating diversity, and promoting cross-cultural understanding.
Incorporate interactive and creative teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles.
Organize and lead cultural workshops, games, and excursions to enhance students' exposure to Mandarin Chinese and Chinese culture.
Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their language development.
Prioritize the safety and well-being of students at all times, maintaining a secure and supervised environment and adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and enriching students experience.
What you will bring:
A genuine love and desire to work with children.
Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (native or near-native fluency).
Experience teaching Mandarin Chinese to children or adolescents, preferably in an educational setting.
English language skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A positive, can-do attitude.
Enthusiasm for working with young learners and a passion for promoting cross-cultural understanding.
Demonstrable reliability and consistency in your attendance, preparation, and execution of class activities, earning the trust and confidence of students, parents, and fellow staff members.
Flexibility, creativity, and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Valid work authorization in the USA.
Reliable transportation.
What you may have (not required):
Bachelor's degree in Education, Chinese Language/Literature, or a related field.
Texas teaching certification.
Certification in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language (e.g., TCFL, TCSOL).
Experience living or studying in a Chinese-speaking environment.
