Position Overview:

Responsible for confirmation of Fleet, Truck Pool and other installed orders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Compare accuracy of quote to customer specification.
  • Compare customer purchase order to quote.
  • Review of product compatibility including but not limited to: body to chassis, mounting kits and harnesses, optional components, auxiliary equipment.
    • Knowledge and understanding of Chassis ordering guides and chassis options.
  • Review installation codes ensuring that all loose parts have mounting location specified and verifying that the codes have respective time and material.
  • Establish new parts & part numbers for auxiliary equipment.
  • Review of discrepancies/warranty issues from previous orders.
  • Verify shipping process and compatibility.
    • Verify ship-thru parameters
  • Submit quote revisions and ensure that they are done correctly.
  • Review conformity to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
    • Lighting requirements
    • Weight limitations & certifications
    • Rear impact requirements
    • Camera compliance
  • Assists Drafters in completion of preliminary approval drawings. Review drawings for accuracy.
  • Attend IPO discrepancy meetings when requested.
  • Attend design and installation review meetings when requested.
  • Serve as backup support to other Application Engineering positions as needed.
  • Performs other duties, assignments and special projects that may be required from time to time.

  • Provide technical support to Fleet Account Managers, Pricing Services, Truck Pool, and Installation Centers.
  • Ability to develop extensive Knapheide product knowledge as well as knowledge of auxiliary equipment installed on any customer's vehicles.

Position Requirements:

BSME or BSAE or equivalent design and/or engineering experience preferred. Must have strong PC skills and experience with 3D-CAD and Microsoft Office products. Must have strong communication skills and the ability to interface directly with suppliers and internal resources.

Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of the Position:

Normal standing, bending, walking, lifting in an office environment. Ability to verbally communicate with individuals. Must be able to sit and work at a computer multiple continuous hours per day.
