Reports to: Director of Academic Affairs


Employment Information: A Full-Time 10-month Bargaining Unit position.


Position Summary:

Provide direct support to the Curriculum Coordinators, as well as to support the operations in the library, the Education Resource Center (ERC) and Special Area Teachers. This position may also mentor students in our College and Career Prep and Transition classes as the need arises.


Qualifications:

  • At least a high school diploma. An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college/university or a PA Bureau of Special Education Paraeducator Credential is preferred
  • Must have Intermediate American Sign Language Competence. Advanced sign competence preferred.
  • Background or experience in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of and comfort with technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist curriculum coordinators and curriculum committees with inputting curriculum maps and unit plans into ATLAS, our curriculum management database.
  • Assist with resource and materials organization in electronic platforms (Example: Miro, Google Drive).
  • Assist Curriculum Coordinators in the ordering, maintenance, distribution, and development of curriculum materials.
  • Provide support for Special Area Teachers as needed.
  • Support the Academic Affairs Office with management and distribution of materials and classroom supplies.
  • Care for and operate the laminators and the Cricut machines in support of the creation of instructional materials
  • Support the librarian with collection management for both the student library and the professional library
  • Engage in professional development in order to meet Paraeducator standards and the needs and expectations of the job
  • Provide mentorships and internships for students in the College and Career Prep class
  • Substitute for the College and Career Preparation teacher when needed
  • Maintain a professional “customer-service-driven” approach
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Participate in team and school-wide meetings
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Lifting and moving of lighter objects such as books, mail packages
  • Manual dexterity skills for using office equipment
  • Ability to read and attend to computer screens for long periods of time
