Period: 07/08/2024 to 07/07/2025, possibility of extension
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Rate: $45 - $50/hour (Hours over 40 will be paid at Time and a Half)
Contract Type: W-2 only
Scope of Services:
The Accountant IV is responsible for preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. The role involves analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. The Accountant IV will report the organization's finances to management and provide suggestions regarding resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts. This role requires a bachelor's degree in accounting and 6-8 years of experience in the field or a related area. The Accountant IV must be familiar with various concepts, practices, and procedures within the field, relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The role includes performing various tasks, leading and directing the work of others, and exercising a wide degree of creativity and latitude. Typically, the Accountant IV reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
Role, Responsibilities, and Deliverables:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports to provide a comprehensive overview of the organization's financial status.
- Trend Analysis: Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to predict future financial performance.
- Management Reporting: Report the organization's finances to management and offer strategic suggestions regarding resource utilization and tax strategies.
- Budget Forecasting: Provide insights and assumptions underlying budget forecasts to support accurate financial planning.
- Process Documentation: Document financial processes, including flowcharting for visualization and detailing key steps, to ensure clarity and efficiency.
- Journal Entries: Create and manage journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
- General Ledger Accounting: Utilize strong G/L accounting skills, including a working knowledge of debits and credits, to maintain accurate financial data.
- Process Improvements: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations and efficiency.
- ERP Systems: Work extensively with large company ERP systems to manage financial data and processes.
- Independent Work: Operate independently while maintaining timely and clear communication with team members and management.
Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Experience: 6-8 years of experience in accounting or a related area.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in creating journal entries and working with general ledger accounting. Experienced with large company ERP systems.
- Process Documentation: Skilled in process documentation, including flowcharting for visualization and writing detailed process steps.
- Process Improvements: Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Independence: Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a timely manner.
- Communication: Strong writing skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills to analyze financial trends and predict future financial performance.
