Our partner is looking for a Residential Loan Officer in Plymouth, MI. The company is a full-service financial institution serving those living, working, worshiping, or attending school in Michigan. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on the Member Engagement Manifesto to ensure an exceptional member experience throughout the mortgage journey.
  • Reach out to potential mortgage leads within 24 hours of notification, with a firm offer of credit where required.
  • Complete mortgage loan and equity applications online, over the phone, or in person, as needed.
  • Pull tri-merge and/or single bureau credit reports to ensure program eligibility based on the member's credit history and/or credit scores.
  • Select appropriate loan programs that meet member expectations for first lien mortgages or home equity loan products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of solid work experience in residential mortgage lending.
  • Valid Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration.
  • Solid understanding of residential lending practices and programs.
  • Capable of working in a sales-centric, goal-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional professionalism providing for a best-in-class member experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Capable of proficiently handling difficult customer conversations.
  • Strong teamwork abilities with co-workers and colleagues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle stress and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and databases.
  • Ability to adapt well to change and learn quickly.
  • High level of personal accountability in problem-solving.
  • Proficiency using Excel and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Encompass.
  • Experience with originating equity loans/lines.
  • Experience in gathering deposits and mortgage lending.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and objectives.
