Position/Purpose
As the Island General Manager of Janitorial Services, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our janitorial operations, ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of our facilities. You will provide strategic leadership, drive operational excellence, and foster a culture of exceptional service delivery within the janitorial department. Working closely with senior management, you will develop and implement strategies to optimize performance, enhance customer satisfaction, and achieve organizational goals.
This position's essential duties:
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to drive the growth and success of the janitorial services division. Identify opportunities for expansion, improvement, and innovation in service offerings.
- Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day janitorial operations, including cleaning schedules, staffing levels, and resource allocation. Ensure that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality janitorial services. Monitor performance metrics, conduct regular inspections, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Financial Management: Manage the budget for the janitorial services division, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost control measures. Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and deliver customized solutions. Act as a primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the janitorial team, including supervisors, cleaners, and support staff. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Training and Development: Develop training programs and resources to ensure that janitorial staff are properly trained in cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and customer service standards. Provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices related to janitorial services, including health and safety requirements. Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and promote a safe working environment.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors involved in janitorial services. Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and resolve issues as necessary.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and technology adoption.
- Business Development: Identify opportunities for business expansion and growth within existing client accounts and new markets. Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop strategies for acquiring new clients and increasing revenue. Participate in networking events, trade shows, and industry conferences to promote the company's services and brand.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Facility Management, or a related field preferred. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in janitorial services management, with a minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of janitorial operations, cleaning techniques, and industry best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.
- Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards related to janitorial services.
- Strong client relationship management skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction and retention.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence and achieving results.
