Job Description

Reporting directly to the General Manager, develop and implement manufacturing process improvements related to safety, quality, and productivity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assess existing processes and workflows for best practice efficiency. Performs manufacturing cycle time studies.
  • Optimize productivity by designing, testing, and implementing new and revised manufacturing procedures.
  • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Engineering Specifications to support Manufacturing standards and controls through an Engineering Change Order process. Prepares Engineering reports to document new processes and process changes.
  • Develop and track manufacturing metrics and Engineering statistical controls. Recommends areas for improvement and monitors upgrades.
  • Communicate findings and proposals to upper management.
  • Conduct process risk assessments by establishing and maintaining compliance with applicable safety and quality standards. Recommend changes with HSE and Quality Department personnel as appropriate.
  • Support root cause/corrective action teams for both product quality and process safety.
  • Perform process design, development, and implementation of capital equipment projects.
  • Design manufacturing tools and fixtures to support safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Contribute to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

  • Knowledge of process engineering and design engineering software systems

Education, Experience:

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Computer aided design preferred
  • 3-5 years of Process Engineering experience
