The One 23 Group, a Virginia-based Government Contractor, seeks a Network Engineer local to the St. Louis, MO area.

Requirements:
  • Analyze users’ requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop network requirements specifications.
  • Provide application performance data and analysis to enable and ensure the end user experience on operational networks (to include the Intelligence Community Net, JWICS, SECNET, SBU, and the Intelligence Community (IC) Desk Top Environment (DTE)) using Government-provided network analysis tools to include Intelligence Community Enterprise-designated network analysis tools.
  • Support performance tuning of the Intelligence Community /NSG network and application parameters for all the Intelligence Community sites and applicable program activities in accordance with mission and user objectives and priorities.
  • Provide network performance engineering data in accordance with coordinated performance tuning standards and outcomes as provided by the Government M&A Team Lead.
  • Provide technical reports to include, but not limited to, defining metrics and operational procedures for addressing multiple network, server, and application outages. Reports shall be conducted an average of two per quarter.
  • Provide data and analysis for support of Tier 3 Operations and Maintenance activities for monitoring end user experience and troubleshooting application performance issues. The assignment of assigned Tier 3 trouble call tickets will be infrequent and expected to occur once per quarter, on average.
  • Coordinate with the Intelligence Community, IC, and DoD team members to ensure that Intelligence Community /NSG network performance meets user requirements, is responsive to crisis requirements, and is prepared to accept new and modified system capabilities, data, and services.
  • Perform analysis, optimization, and requirement verification to measure, maintain, and enhance the Intelligence Community network and application performance across the IT infrastructure, including planned or existing cloud-based implementation for both the Intelligence Community internal and external users.
  • Maintain awareness of industry/professional standards and best practices for their use in operating and maintaining appropriate performance, capacity, and availability data collection tools and services for the Intelligence Community’s large, extended IT network enterprise, to include cloud-resident data, applications, and services.
  • Maintain awareness of and state of preparedness to support emerging network migrations and modernization across the Intelligence Community’s IT networks.
  • Analyze network requirements and capacity and coordinate with various teams to ensure design and development activities result in acceptable user experience.
  • Generate and deliver reoccurring reports for TAEF for trips, briefings, issues memoranda, Weekly Activity Reports (WAR), weekly staff meetings, schedules, project plans for current or new in-scope assignment, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and action items. Format and frequency as directed by the TAEF lead to Satisfy the Intelligence Community policies and guidance.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years of related field or work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Wireshark, Netscout, Riverbed, or tcpdump, and having the capability to analyze network packet data to optimize transport performance as part of advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution in a complex network with the Government or contracting leads.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex scheduling to conduct performance tuning with internal and external teams to meet mission priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Government-provided Information Technology (IT) tools to generate various Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) layers metrics/analysis and provide reports to identify network problems as needed.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership for the integration of network requirements, design, and technology with experience in the design and perform integration of new technologies into local and wide area networks.
  • Demonstrated experience to support the transition and migration of networks and development of network addressing schemes.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in network hardware; routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, network bridges, modems, Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) adapters, and firewalls.
  • Requires active or having the ability to achieve DoD 8570 compliance or information assurance certification commensurate within six-months to meet technical objectives and services required within the contract
