About the Role:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Voice Network Engineer to join their team in Fairfax, VA. This is an onsite role, and the ideal candidate must be located in or within a commutable distance to the area. As a Voice Network Engineer, you will be responsible for developing testing strategies and plans in collaboration with our client, cross-service teams, and third-party partners. This role requires deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience with Avaya’s product portfolio and communication systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop testing strategies and plans with the client, cross-service teams, and third-party partners.
  • Provide technical guidance and advice for the operations and maintenance of the customer’s expansive voice network, including patching, upgrading, and introducing new Avaya products.
  • Monitor, manage, and maintain voice call flow traffic across more than 300 TDM-PRI/H.323/SIP trunk groups connecting to Avaya products and other telecommunication platforms.
  • Migrate call flows from TDM-PRI & H.323 trunk groups to SIP peering connections via AAR/ARS Analysis/Conversion tables and Route Patterns.
  • Maintain a bash script application to assist end-users with login account administration in hundreds of Avaya and non-Avaya servers.
  • Manage non-person accounts performing automated functions across Avaya and non-Avaya servers.
  • Collaborate with the customer’s O&M Team and other organizations to troubleshoot and maintain reliable talk paths between voice networks.
  • Produce and maintain various documentation (MSWord, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) capturing management and maintenance protocols for the customer’s voice network.
  • Assist O&M technicians and voice engineers with administrative tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Train newer voice engineers on the aforementioned tasks.


About You:

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience with Avaya’s product portfolio, including Communication Manager, Session and System Manager, and Session Initiation Protocol.
  • Extensive experience with Avaya CM implementation and service-related work.
  • Proven experience in support fields with direct customer interactions.
  • Strong personal computer and business solution software skills in application administration, design, and architecture.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for designing, coordinating, and testing applications.
  • Leadership skills to guide and mentor less experienced personnel.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers, support personnel, and management.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a high tolerance for stressful situations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a related field.


Requirements:

  • Must be a United States citizen holding Top Secret Clearance with full scope polygraph.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be located in or within a commutable distance to Fairfax, VA.
