Job Title: Pool Attendant

Pool Hours: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Department: Aquatics

Reports to: Pool Supervisor

Location: South Troy Pool

Salary: $16.25 an hour

Status: Full-time,Part-time, Seasonal


Pool Attendant responsibilities

  • Pool Safety: Maintain a safe pool environment by enforcing pool rules and regulations, monitoring pool activity, and responding promptly to any potential safety concerns or emergencies.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service to all pool guests, answering questions, providing assistance, and addressing any concerns or complaints in a timely manner.
  • Conduct routine pool maintenance tasks, including cleaning pool decks, arranging pool furniture, and ensuring pool equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate water quality levels by regularly testing the pool water, adding chemicals as necessary, and ensuring the pool is clean and free of debris.
  • Ensure all pool equipment, such as life jackets, safety buoys, and rescue equipment, are readily available and in good condition.
  • Monitor pool capacity and enforce occupancy limits to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.
  • Manage pool guest access, including checking pool passes or collecting admission fees if applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including incident reports, daily pool usage logs, and any other required paperwork as designated by management.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to any pool-related emergencies, providing first aid and contacting emergency services as needed.
  • Promote water safety by educating pool guests about the rules, proper pool behavior, and general water safety guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, and supervisors to ensure a positive and efficient work environment.

*Seasonal Job from June through September*

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent or
  • Working Papers
  • CPR, First Aid, and lifeguard certifications.
  • Previous experience working in a pool or customer service environment is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations effectively.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required during the summer season.
