New Haven, United States Fuss & O'Neill Full time
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescriptionAfter nearly a century of shaping New England communities and helping private companies, you’d think that Fuss & O’Neill would be satisfied with being established. But we’re not. We’re always looking to evolve. Design is never static, so why should we be? We’re using the latest tech, we’ve prioritized work-life balance (flexible/remote work opportunities, part-time benefits, and generous PTO), and we’re constantly taking on new types of projects.

If working for a company that creates positive changes in your community, that empowers and implements employee ideas, and that celebrates collaboration, diversity, and ethical choices sounds like something that interests you, then you’ve come to the right place

We are seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager to join our team. This professional will support all aspects of site/civil engineering projects including performing project scoping, contract development, project and staff management including overseeing site design (e.g., layout, grading, utilities, erosion & sediment controls, etc.), assisting in the preparation of site plans and details; conducting field meetings; interfacing with clients to support business development activities, and assisting in report and permit writing activities.

Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, plan, execute, and oversee all phases of site civil projects (land development; brownfields redevelopment; municipal infrastructure and community projects; campus infrastructure; public green infrastructure siting and design; stormwater management planning and design; climate resiliency; and more) ensuring adherence to project scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors, to achieve project goals.
  • Conduct thorough site assessments, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to inform project decision-making.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to provide regular project updates and address any concerns.
  • Implement quality control processes to ensure projects meet industry standards and client expectations.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages professional growth and development among team members.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience with strong site design skills
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
  • Previous project management (contracts, business development, design, QA/QC) experience required
  • Strong understanding of industry regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong AutoCAD, Civil 3D and HydroCAD knowledge; GIS is a plus
  • Experience with local & state permitting requirements (planning, zoning, highway access, etc.)
The ideal candidate for this role is a proactive individual with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for delivering high-quality results.
Why You'll Love Working with Us:
  •  Schedule Flexibility: Customize your work schedule to fit your life.
  •  Health & Wellness: Comprehensive health benefits to keep you and your family healthy.
  •  Continuous Learning: Access to online courses, conferences, and learning materials to fuel your professional growth.
