Heavy Duty Truck Damage Appraiser

The Heavy Duty Truck Damage Appraiser role supports claimants through the process of getting their heavy duty vehicles repaired and restored. Our appraisers complete estimate reviews from our insurance and fleet partners to appraise vehicle damage, coordinate repairs with applicable network auto body shops, and maintain communication with all parties involved in the claim process.


What you’ll do:

  • Complete reviews of adjuster and contractor estimates against carrier guidelines and make appropriate recommendations for changes.
  • Review new losses daily for proper cause, loss type and preventability classifications and that all resulting notification is made per client’s instructions.
  • Ensure that all services within the Fleet division are provided with high quality statistical auditing services highly focused on quality assurance of auto estimates.
  • Provide statistical auditing for claims by clients, teams, and individuals to analyze operational improvements and adhere to client specific estimating guidelines.
  • Manage rental process for each claim including but limited to setting up rental against repair timelines and contract extensions.
  • Handle all escalation issues related to the quality of the work provided by contractors.  
  • Identify and assesses related and unrelated damage and set clear expectations on timelines and outcomes.
  • Collaboratively work with other departments to resolve customers quickly, efficiently, and empathetically and/or vendor issues.
  • Other Duties as assigned.


What we’re looking for:

  • HD truck estimating required
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least three years of auto body shop, auto appraisal, or auto claims experience.
  • I-CAR certification required.
  • State adjuster licensing preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills and Proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative and make decisions.
  • Excellent follow through on timelines and follow-ups.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
