The Merchandise Manager is responsible for crafting and executing an overarching merchandise strategy that aligns with the brand's vision and supports sales growth across all Big Woods and Hard Truth locations. This role involves overseeing product development, managing inventory, and ensuring that merchandise strategies are effectively implemented and followed to drive brand success.

Merchandise Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a merchandise strategy that aligns with the brand's vision, support sales objectives, and responds to market trends.

  • Product Development: Oversee the product development process, including selection, design, and procurement, to ensure a compelling and profitable merchandise assortment.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize stock, minimize markdowns, and ensure product availability. Implement effective inventory control procedures and month counts.

  • Sales Performance: Analyze sales date and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and areas for improvement. Adjust strategies as needed to meet sales targets.

  • Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strop relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and ensure timely delivery of merchandise/

  • Budget Management: Develop and manager the merchandise budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.

  • Customer Insights: Utilize customer feedback and insights to inform merchandise decisions and enhance the overall customer experience.

Merchandise Manager Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of industry experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with sales data analysis.

  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities

  • Effective leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • 2 years of experience in merchandising at a retail level.

  • Must have excellent attendance and punctuality.

  • Expected to work during peak merchandise sales times.

  • Familiarity with inventory management software and tools.

  • Creative problem-solving skills and a keen eye for trends


Work Environment Requirements:

  • Be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time

  • Ability to travel to multiple worksite locations.

  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
