General Purpose

The Director of People & Culture is responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources function with support of HR supervisor and Recruiter.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Directs and monitors the employment and recruitment process to source, recruit, hire and retain qualified staff.
  • Develops Human Resources policies, procedures and programs.
  • Ensures compliance with all employment laws and regulations
  • Manages employee relations issues, coordinating with legal counsel on all related issues and litigations.
  • Provides support, professional recommendations, and guidance to managers and employees on various employee issues.
  • Advises managers and employees on the interpretation of agency policies.
  • Researches analyzes, and makes recommendations pertaining to compensation, employee-related issues, benefits, and other HR matters.
  • Develops and implements HR strategies and systems that positively influence and support the operations and growth objective of SGA Youth & Family Services.
  • Oversees benefit administration of Group Benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, Life, 403(b) etc.).
  • Coordinates payroll and timekeeping system.
  • Engages in effective communication processes with employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field required, related master’s degree preferred
  • Seven years of Non-For-Profit Human Resource working experience is strongly preferred
  • SHRM or working towards its destination preferred.
  • Experience with Human Service and/or Community-Based Service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Paylocity Payroll System or other HRIS systems. Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer; and project management software is preferred.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity is required
