Jones Petrie Rafinski (JPR), a dynamic provider of A&E services in South Bend, Fort Wayne, and Goshen, Indiana, is seeking a licensed Professional Surveyor. As a multi-disciplined firm, we offer our professionals a broad variety of challenging assignments.  The candidate will provide leadership, mentoring, and oversight to qualified team members within the Survey practice and associated staff from supporting departments.

 

Project management and oversight of various types of land survey projects is typical. The candidate should also expect to engage in a wide variety of development projects in many settings.

 

Local project and client assignments across Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan should be expected.

 

Personal growth should be a priority for this candidate as JPR believes that professional staff members who are success-oriented will lead, learn, and mentor at the highest level.

 

This position requires:

Degree in Surveying or related work experience

Professional Licensure in the state of Indiana is preferred.

Professional Licensure in the state of MI or OH is highly favored.

8+ years of experience in survey discipline preferred.

The candidate should have:

  • An ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment while actively promoting a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Experience with managing survey crews.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Carlson Survey is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with TopCon survey equipment is a plus.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • A creative approach to problem-solving.
  • An innovative mindset.
  • A desire to mentor and grow a project team.

 


Responsibilities:

  • Manage client relationships.
  • Manage land survey projects in various industries, including, transportation and right-away, boundary, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, and utility and construction staking.
  • Develop and manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage and Mentor survey crew team members.
  • Perform analysis and design required for minor structures, systems, and equipment items.
  • Prepare sketches and diagrams for use by technicians.
  • Review and check detailed drawings and layouts.
  • Prepare contract / proposals specifications and cost estimates.
  • Review work completed by field staff members.
  • Engage with department leads throughout the firms many practice disciplines.
  • Encourage team growth, cohesiveness, and innovation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
