Our A&R Mental Health Technician responsibilities include some of the following:
- Care for our patients daily by obtaining vital signs, assessing their behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them continuously throughout the shift.
- Conduct direct observation rounds during assigned shift and document patient’s behavior.
- Maintain a therapeutic and appropriate relationship adhering to staff/patient boundaries.
- Carry out patient pat-down/contraband search of patient and their belongings.
- Inventory patients’ belongings at moment of intake assessment.
- Take and record vital signs and report abnormalities to Charge Nurse.
- Assist patients with verbal de-escalation when they are agitated.
- Provide a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
- Identify patients at risk and implement procedures to monitor and reduce at risk factors.
Please apply if you have the following qualifications for an A&R Mental Health Technician:
- High School Degree or equivalent preferred. Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.
- At least one (1) year of related experience in psychiatric or behavioral health strongly preferred.
- Psychiatric Technician: 1 year (preferred).
- Additional Requirements: Successful completion of BLS and Handle with Care training within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
*Earn weekday and weekend night shift differential
