We are looking for a long-term Payroll Specialist that will be an integral
member of our Accounting team. We service clients in a wide range of industries
based across the US. The ideal candidate will have a background in payroll
processing and a strong knowledge of accounting principles. This individual will be
cross-trained on both payroll processing and bookkeeping responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Lead all payroll related tasks including processing payroll for our clients,
making payroll tax payments, filing related tax forms, preparing and filing
quarterly and annual returns, and maintaining updated client banking
employee information
Correspond with clients via email, memos, faxes, and forms in a professional
and polite manner
Interface professionally with government entities when required to manage
client affairs
Bookkeeping for clients, including data entry from source documents
Project management of assigned client projects to deliver timely and
accurate finished products as per expectations
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience processing payroll for multiple entities
Strong working knowledge of payroll taxes and filings, both for IRS and EDD
Demonstrated acumen of accounting principles and ability to strategically
apply to client scenarios
Proficiency with data entry / bookkeeping
Strong work ethic and adherence to client and company confidentiality
protocols
Excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritize work, and the
ability to multi-task
Attention to detail, precision, and professionalism in all tasks and
communications
Ability to calmly handle pressure in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to synthesize large volumes of information in an organized manner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Eagerness to learn at all times and flexibility to adapt to shifting business
needs
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining
productivity
Working knowledge of office equipment, such as printers, fax machines, and
phone systems
Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working for an accounting firm
Familiarity with Accountant’s Office
College degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Administration
Northwest Orange County resident
