Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial and accounting management with a focus on controls and financial reporting.
  • Oversight of third-party accounting services, which assists with accounts payable and income audit.
  • Manage and control accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury management functions.
  • Monitor property revenues and expenses for accuracy and ensure the recording is in accordance with established guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Communicate weekly cash flow which includes real-time cash balances, expense forecast, and proposed payments to vendors.
  • Timely preparation of property financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and bank reconciliations with supporting workpapers.
  • Responsible for generating end of period reports. Investigate and analyze variances to forecast, budget and prior year.
  • Ensure compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution and payment of all operational taxes.
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Assist in the creation of CAPEX and FF&E Budgets, including gathering support, monitoring the bid process, and tracking actuals versus budget.
  • Analyze financial data and operations in order to assist and advise executive team in maintaining the property’s financial objectives.
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of related progressive experience in hotel and/or food & beverage Accounting or related field; or a 4-year college degree with an Accounting/ Finance concentration and a minimum of 4-years of related progressive experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 4-year financial degree preferred
  • Experience in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel preferred
  • Accuracy and efficiency with mathematical calculations
  • Proficiency with computers and financial systems
  • Ability to understand and work in various accounting systems and PMS and POS systems
  • Gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, which may include weekends and holidays
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to clearly communicate with guests, management, and co-workers

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in related or closely related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
