We perform sanitary sewer, storm drain, culinary water, irrigation, earthwork, roadway construction, dams, landfills, natural gas pipelines, industrial piping, and telecommunication projects primarily in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, and Oregon.

The Resource Scheduler is responsible for the efficient planning, coordination, dispatch, and scheduling of equipment resources to meet the needs of multiple construction projects within the company. This role requires a meticulous and organized individual who can manage competing priorities, optimize resource utilization, and ensure that equipment is available and in optimal working condition for project teams. This position reports to the SVP of Construction Operations. 


Core Responsibilities:  

  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules for the deployment of equipment to various construction sites.
  • Coordinate project resource needs with project managers, construction managers, superintendents, equipment department, and transportation to ensure project staffing and equipment needs are met.
  • Allocate equipment based on project priority, availability, and suitability.
  • Arrange for the timely delivery and pickup of equipment to and from job sites.
  • Dispatch equipment to construction sites, ensuring that deliveries are made accurately and on schedule.
  • Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and meets project specifications. Coordinate with the Equipment department for regular servicing and urgent repairs.
  • Track the rental of external equipment to ensure optimal usage and cost-efficiency while analyzing rental needs.
  • Monitor rental periods to avoid unnecessary extensions and additional costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, location, and condition.
  • Communicate all equipment dispatches and crew assignments to affected project managers, construction managers and superintendents to increase awareness of equipment availability and planned moves.
  • Generate reports on equipment utilization, downtime, and maintenance schedules and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment scheduling and utilization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for resource scheduling and management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • High School diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in resource scheduling, logistics, or operations within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction equipment and its applications.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • Office-based with occasional visits to construction sites.
