Job DescriptionJob Description

An Accounting Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the financial records of a business. This includes data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger and processing transactions, preparing reports, and reconciling accounts. Accounting clerks may also be responsible for customer service and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and have strong computer skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enter and process accounting data
  • Prepare and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records
  • Balance general ledger accounts
  • Prepare monthly financial statements
  • Assist with audits and other special projects
  • Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting support
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
