We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on leader to learn and grow within our Logistics Department Shin-Etsu MicroSi is an ISO-certified subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Chemicals in Japan. Our focus is the sale of chemicals and technology for the semiconductor industry.

While applicable experience is required, we are primarily seeking talented individuals with attention to detail, proven leadership skills, and interest in establishing a long-term career with the company. The successful candidate is expected to take on multiple and varied tasks in order to improve the team. All members of the Logistics Department are responsible for creating and fostering a positive, team-focused environment and supporting the company's mission, vision, and values.

This is a hands-on, physical job. Our Logistics Associates need to be comfortable completing repetitive tasks in a minimally supervised environment. They are also expected to manage the movement of materials throughout the facility with attention to safety standards, packaging and processing outgoing shipments, and helping to receive incoming deliveries.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The responsibilities of this role require the physical ability to:

  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 60lbs to a height of 5ft and over a distance of 10ft.
  • Tolerate non-hazardous chemical odors on a nearly constant basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS (performed under moderate supervision) include, but are not limited to:

  • Use ERP system to verify inventory against pending sales orders, pick and allocate inventory to sales orders, and communicate with internal departments regarding material availability and shipping schedule.
  • Package, label, palletize, and ship outbound materials for LTL freight, shipment by sea, and parcel by ground or air shipment in accordance with domestic and international regulations and hazardous materials handling protocols.
  • Onload, offload, and transport materials, parcel boxes, and palletized freight shipments with a forklift, handcart, or other vehicles as needed.
  • Prepare bills of lading and appropriate customs documents for outbound shipments.
  • Carefully and accurately maintain shipping records and communicate shipment confirmation to internal departments.
  • Receive goods and verify the quality and count of all delivered items against shipment documentation and purchase orders, and immediately report discrepancies to management and the appropriate departments.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of goods received into and shipped out of onsite and offsite consignment warehouse locations.
  • Enter inventory adjustments and post-product transfer transactions to reconcile ERP system to physical inventory audits.
  • Conduct frequent cycle count audits of onsite physical inventory and electronic inventory management system.
  • Use ERP system and provided reports to audit, reconcile, and maintain in-house and off-site materials and consignment inventory
  • Track, document, and communicate NCMRs and expired materials reports.
  • Prepare inventory reports for management and internal departments.
  • Assist with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
  • Observe and follows safety procedures and work instructions set by the company and industry best practices, including staying up to date on relevant HAZMAT standards.

To fulfill these responsibilities, the Logistics Associate is expected to communicate professionally with vendors, internal departments, and our parent company in Japan on a regular basis. They must be able to maintain a positive, self-starting attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction while working in a team-oriented environment. Attention to detail and a willingness to take on new tasks are essential.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education requirements:

Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or related field is preferred.

DOT Hazmat training, Six Sigma, ISO training, and 49 CFR also preferred.


Experience requirements:

8-10 years of warehouse logistics experience

Specialty: shipping dangerous goods

3 years in a lead or supervisor role

Microsoft suite capabilities

Excel: Required

PowerPoint: Required

SAP, Oracle, MAXIMO and/or ERP skills

Understanding of FIFO, LIFO, JIT, and WIP

In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., DOT, IATA) for the transportation and storage of hazardous materials.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Employee is expected to work out of the main office in Phoenix, AZ. This role will require working with hazardous chemicals and various warehouse equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, and basic tools. Attention to detail and safety is critical.
