Job Description:

You will be responsible for managing, planning and administering the daily operations of our chauffeur team, as well as assuring compliance and training of all DOT standards.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The following is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the essential functions of the Chauffeur and Fleet Supervisor position, but rather a general description of some of the requirements necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position. The Chauffeur/Fleet Supervisor must be able to perform the following tasks, among others:


  • Recruit, train and assess chauffeurs and their qualifications as per driving laws.
  • Coordinate with drivers, staff, and management to hold meetings and resolve issues.
  • Maintain costs and profits within the budget.
  • Manage records of personnel, expenditures and of government rules and driving regulations.
  • Respond and/or dispatch service personnel to emergency situations during and after normal work hours when required..
  • Arrange for onsite periodical inspections of vehicles in use.
  • Develop amiable, genuine and supportive relations with chauffeurs on a personal and professional level and collaborate with other departments to solve their problems.
  • Keep abreast with the latest technologies to enhance company output.
  • Keep track of driver hours and miles in coordination with Dispatchers to achieve maximum productivity in given hours.
  • Oversees DOT compliance and reporting as it relates to the chauffeur team.
  • Assist the Ops Manager in the development of policies and regulations.
  • Assist the Ops Manager with interviews, training and scheduling.
  • Assist the Ops Manager with permits, registrations, insurance, fuelman and accidents.
  • Coordinate and provide input concerning the yearly performance evaluation of assigned employees.
  • Conduct field inspections for vehicles, chauffeurs and affiliates.
  • On site coordinator for jobs with 4+ vehicles
  • Receive documents of the new vehicles and create a digital and a local folder to keep all the necessary documents of each vehicle
  • Make sure vehicle(s) get insured and the Insurance card ID are received
  • Proceed to get the vehicle(s) registered with the DMV office to obtain tags and registration. Do the renewal a few days prior to expiration date
  • Make a copy of the insurance card and the registration and place them in a folder in the glove compartment of every vehicle
  • Request certificate of insurance in order to proceed to obtain Miami for hire permits, the Miami Airport permits, port of Miami, Broward permits, port of everglades and SP plus Transponder for airport and port permits.
  • Renew all these permit every year in every county


  • Keep track of all vehicles maintenance in a spreadsheet, set up schedule to track
  • Have the vehicles repair in a timely manner to avoid loss of revenue
  • Set up Claim and follow up with the insurance company after our vehicles get involved in an accident
  • Arrange the vehicle to be moved to the collision center to get repair
  • Respond immediately to a vehicle emergency, addressing the issue with a towing company, road assistance or having a replacement vehicle onsite If available.
  • Make sure all the vehicles are kept in an excellent shape, not having, dents, or scratches
  • Sources estimates to sell vehicles from our fleet when necessary.
  • Maintain a good relationship with our service vendors

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally in situations which require a high degree of sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy
  • Use electronic record keeping for employee progress, monitor/report on statistical data
  • Identify employee and customer concerns and address those matters appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Establish effective working relationships, emphasize and demonstrate the department's goal of customer service in all aspects of work.
