Summary: This position manages an existing and new portfolio of Commercial Finance Factoring and Asset Based Lending (ABL) clients as well as manages the day-to-day operations for these clients. This position requires proficiency in most areas of Factoring and Asset Based Lending (ABL) operations including credit skills, customer service, negotiation skills, bank product knowledge, and the ability to operate with moderate supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manages an existing and new portfolio of Commercial Finance Factoring and Asset Based Lending (ABL) clients. Retention of the assigned portfolio and loss prevention are the primary objectives.
  2. Provides quality customer service and answers customer inquiries or directs/refers them to appropriate BankFinancial personnel/third-party vendors.
  3. Manages day-to-day operations for Factoring and ABL clients including monitoring of collections, processing client funding requests and ensuring proper posting to the system of record.
  4. Manages and tracks client reporting requirements, including follow-up with clients as necessary.
  5. Oversees and manages the verification of account debtor invoices.
  6. Reviews debtor credit limits daily and recommends appropriate changes for approval.
  7. Coordinates with accounting for daily and month end reconciliations.
  8. Tracks and manages loan renewals. Works with management for any facility increases/decreased, pricing changes, etc.
  9. Effectively exits or collects out of credits when required with no loan losses.
  10. Maintains a satisfactory level of familiarity with clients' operations and their industries.
  11. Assists in underwriting new transactions. Receives, previews, and conducts initial viability analysis on loan applications and related documents. Ensures that applications are complete as to core requirements and all other initial items have been received or requested prior to underwriting.
  12. Reviews and presents loan presentations to supervisor, provides review of loan documents, and provides final review of all other related loan documentation and closing items.
  13. Responsible for proper on-boarding of new clients. Processes payoffs as needed.
  14. Follows-up with the customer or designated representative whenever the customer or representative provides an inadequate response, insufficient information, or does not respond in a timely manner to BankFinancial personnel through the underwriting and closing process as well as ongoing portfolio management.
  15. Prepares management reports as needed.
  16. Attempts to cross-sells all bank loan, deposit, treasury management and electronic products.
  17. Ensures electronic loan files are properly documented and maintained.
  18. Acts as backup for and assists in duties of Client Account Representatives when needed.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and three years relevant commercial credit experience, preferably in a bank or commercial finance company environment; or equivalent combination of education and relevant commercial credit experience.
