Surgery Scheduler needed for busy Urology office. Small 2 physician/1 Nurse Practitioner friendly office open since 1987 with a committed staff.

Responsibilities:

The duties of the position will include:

  • Performing various routine clerical tasks, primarily dealing with all surgeries.
  • Handles insurance inquiries and schedules surgery time with hospital and pre op clearances prior to surgery dates.
  • Works closely with physician regarding all scheduling issues e.g. block times, scheduling changes and special equipment.
  • Maintains positive relationships with patients, family members and all other personnel of hospitals and other physicians offices.
  • Collaborates with hospital scheduling team to ensure that all procedures and hospital admission requests are completed.
  • Communicates effectively with patients as to surgery times and other surgery matters needing explanation.
  • Answers and responds to all surgery related calls to office.
  • Performs insurance eligibility and obtains authorizations for all surgeries.
Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of EMR.
  • Good telephone and communications skills.
  • Knowledge of HMO, PPO, and Medicare Insurance.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish.
