Work Status: Direct

Shift: 2nd Shift 3 pm and 11:30 pm

Role Synopsis

  • The Assembly Technician III is responsible for the assembly, disassembly, refurbishment, and testing of production valves.
  • Assist the Assembly & Test Manager to drive assemblies to completion on time and budget.
  • The Assembly Technician III will also supervise and direct other assembly technicians, as required.

  • Provide direction for technicians when Assembly & Test Manager is not available
  • Review, and interpret schematics and /or testing procedures to aid in production setup and execution,
  • Utilize schematics, drawings, and blueprints to aid in production set-up and execution.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and refurbish RMA valves and related equipment.
  • Complete and maintain documentation, as required.
  • Notify the Production Assembly & Test Manager of quality or safety concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness of assembly, disassembly, and test areas.
  • Train less experienced assembly technicians, as required.
  • Perform other work-related tasks, as assigned.

Qualifications/Work Experience

Essential

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred

  • Associate degree (technical)

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in assembly, disassembly, and testing of subsea equipment or related equipment
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, and kneel regularly.
  • Able to work in elevated work areas with proper PPE.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and/or overtime if required.

Preferred

  • Familiar with the oil/gas industry, particularly manufacturing

  • Physical Dexterity required; ability to ascend/descend ladders; ability to stand, walk, bend, sit, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and move objects for 8 to 12 hours per day.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Speak/hear and use specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Capability of properly using standard office equipment including a computer with a keyboard.
  • Ability to wear and utilize Personal Protective Safety Equipment (PPE). Required equipment includes steel-toed shoes, and safety glasses/goggles. Additional PPE may be required, e.g., safety harnesses, Fire Retardant Clothing (FRC), hard hats, or others as assigned.

  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require basic safety precautions. Ability to wear and utilize Personal Protective Safety Equipment (PPE). Required equipment includes steel-toed shoes, and safety glasses/goggles. Additional PPE may be required, e.g., safety harnesses, Fire Retardant Clothing (FRC), hard hats, or others as assigned.
  • Work conditions will vary and may include working up to twelve (12) hours per day or more in environments with exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
