Job Title: Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Supervisor

Location: Wailuku, Hawaii with flexible work environment

Summary of Program and Position: FFT is a family-focused evidence-based program that emphasizes family strengths to support the development of positive and productive family interactions. Therapists focus on family engagement and motivation, communication and interaction skills, problem solving strategies, conflict management and the use of community resources.

The Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Supervisor provides direct supervision to the FFT Therapists (by team or statewide depending on program size and scope) including planning, coordinating, and ensuring the delivery of quality services for children and their families enrolled in the program. This position communicates extensively with CAMHD staff, other community providers, the FFT Clinical Lead and other PACT personnel. This position is under the direct supervision of the Program Director.

Essential Duties:

  1. Behaves in a manner that supports the agency's mission and follows personnel policies and procedures.
  2. Provides leadership to the FFT staff and assumes all the responsibilities of a supervisor with the staff who report directly to this position including being available outside of normal business hours to support staff members and clients. The FFT Supervisor will provide backup clinical services and hold a case load as required by the FFT Clinical to families and children enrolled in the program. Must be able to travel off island to provide clinical services when needed.
  3. Ensures that the delivery of service is done in a manner consistent with the standards and guidelines established by funding agencies, state law, the ISS policies and procedures, and in accordance with the Hawaii Children and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP) principles.
  4. Supports the development of assessments, written crisis plans, treatment plans, transition and discharge plans in collaboration with the youth, families and all other relevant partners.
  5. Ensures that program objectives are met and that reports are submitted in a timely manner to the appropriate individuals, funders, collaborators, and agencies as required.
  6. Maintains effective working relationships with funders, collaborators, state agencies, and other providers of mental health services.
  7. Develops curriculum, provides and procures training for staff.
  8. Participates and attends required and assigned training, supervision and consultation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in Social Work or related field, required.
  2. Minimum of one year of experience supervising mental health professionals, plus at least one of the following:
    1. Psychiatrist with current Hawaii license and board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), or eligible in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry
    2. Hawaii licensed Psychologist in Clinical or Educational Psychology
    3. Hawaii licensed Social Worker (LCSW)
    4. Hawaii licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
    5. Hawaii Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
    6. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in behavioral health with current Hawaii license
  3. Completion of the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Clinical Supervision and Leader Training within the first (2) years of employment.
  4. Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license.
  5. Has daily access to an automobile.
  6. Possesses and maintains proof of no-fault insurance.
  7. Must have a cell phone for use in emergencies at off-site locations
