New Director of Digital Events at SaaStr
This is a new role at small but mighty Team SaaStr that focuses on our digital events and media business that includes digital events, digital sponsorships, podcasts, newsletters, paid media, and more.
We ended 2020 with $3.5M+ in digital media revenue, and a clear path to getting to $10,000,000. The vast majority of this is from digital demand gen, but importantly, the majority going forward will be from integrated sponsorships -- both across our digital mega-events and in-person perpendicular events.
2020 was the first time we expanded our digital media beyond podcasts, paid media, and blog posts, into 100%, completely digital sponsorships that focus on delivering leads and helping our sponsors/ customers drive demand in 2020 and 2021.
Your job is to own executing our global, digital events from end-to-end, including: acting as the lead producer for our digital events, driving attendees, meeting or exceeding ticket sales, leveling up communications to build awareness, community-building, and anything that will drive our digital events to the forefront of SaaS and Cloud. You’ll also help us define the intersections between digital and in-person events -- an exciting, new forefront.
Job Goal:
- Project manage and quarterback the success of our digital events
- Drive-up community growth and net revenue for SaaStr
Spec:
- Project management of our digital mega-events, including ticket sales, session registration, meeting or exceeding attendee goals, leveling up communications and promotions, and supporting the needs of our digital event sponsors
- Design attendee product offerings that further enhance value for customers and sponsors
- Own quality of attendee experience at our digital events including quality of content, networking, meetings, and interactions
- Drive-up overall SaaStr community growth through long-term and short-term marketing campaigns that tie into our overall events strategy
- Build programs, events, and more to improve our customer/sponsor marketing to enhance our relationships
- Improve attendee NPS +20 points through a steady stream of activities
- Help define the intersection of ‘hybrid’ events: how digital crosses over into in-person, and vice-versa
- We are a small team doing a lot. This is a hands-on role
Experience Necessary:
- 5-7+ years of SaaS marketing, including some hands-on experience with digital events
- Ideally, a mix of SaaS/ B2C or events experience as well
- Experience running proprietary events and expert-level fluency with digital marketing platforms such as Zoom, Marketo, HeySummit, Zapier, Wordpress, Squarespace and others
Requirements
- Must be hands-on. We are a distributed team and do have a fair amount of general work flexibility (exact hours, etc), but this is a leadership role and you must be ready to roll up your sleeves to dive in and meet event deadlines on time
- Must know SaaStr. This is not a good role for someone who doesn’t know what SaaStr is, or why it is.
