Job DescriptionJob Description

We are looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and data entry skills, as well as experience with payroll software. The Payroll Assistant is responsible for processing employee payroll information and ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time. This includes collecting timesheets, calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and issuing paychecks. The Payroll Clerk also maintains payroll records and files, and troubleshoots any payroll-related problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect and verify timesheets from employees.
  • Calculate wages, deductions, and taxes for employees.
  • Issue paychecks to employees.
  • Maintain payroll records and files.
  • Troubleshoot payroll-related problems.
  • Answer employee questions about payroll.
  • Prepare payroll reports.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
