Job Description

2 or 3 years of experience is required as Data Analyst or as BI Analyst

  • Position is responsible creating, designing, developing, and running database reports based on needs. Position involves importing, cleaning, transforming, validating or modeling data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data.
  • In addition this position will work with other business units to improve the quality of the data information resources and determine the best means of transforming the data into useable information.

Qualifications-The following qualifications are preferred to successfully accomplish this position:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, or Information Systems and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Prior financial services industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience with SQL Server and TSQL programming. SSIS, SSRS, SAP Business Objects and/or Crystal/Pentaho reports (experience preferred).
  • Understanding of Data Warehousing and the ETL process, from the design of star schemas to the transformation of troublesome data and every stage in between.
  • Working knowledge of database concepts and relational databases. Familiarity with the Kimball Lifecycle approach is preferred.
  • Familiarity with variety of 3rd party BI tools including Tableau, Power BI, DAX, etc.
  • Knowledge of data mining techniques and experience with Financial Modeling preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and proficiency in the use of other Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with internal clients to interpret user's data warehousing needs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information.
  • Analytical skills to include the ability to define problems, collect data, recognize reasonableness, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to multi-task, plan, scope, schedule, and organize.
  • Ability to think independently, and research problems using all available resources.
  • Ability to work independently within specific time constraints with a high degree of accuracy.
  • It will be on-site 5 days a week the first few weeks, then it will be hybrid 2 times a week after that.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Design, develops, tests and presents Business Intelligence reporting solutions that may include cubes, dashboards, published reports, charts, graphs, tables, etc.
  • Assist in reviewing and refining the data warehouse data model.
  • Create necessary models to convert data to actionable information.
  • Design and develop relational databases for collecting data.
  • Partner closely with other business units to properly scope and deliver effective information solutions based on specifications.
  • Communicate and interact with all levels of users, potentially including executive management and/or board of directors to present necessary reports.
  • Suggest and design enhancements to existing data models and reports.
  • Understand and is accountable for executing all job functions in a way that is
