Stars Therapy Services is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Client Development Specialist (Assessments) to work in Santa Cruz County/Watsonville. This position requires language proficiency in both English and Spanish.


Stars Therapy Services is a leader in providing Assessments and Early Intervention for children with developmental delays in a naturalistic environment. This includes providing Speech, Physical and Occupational Therapy using evidence-based practices, while also maintaining cultural sensitivity.

Job Type: Full-time (32+ hours per week)

Availability: Monday-Friday at 9 am - 6 pm

Location: Santa Cruz County and be willing to work in Watsonville

Rate: Starting pay range of $25-30/hr (experience and education considered)

Language: Bilingual in English + Spanish or Vietnamese


Role Overview: The Child Development Specialist (CDS) - For Assessments would provide an initial assessment in an in-home setting with children from birth to 3 years old. The Child Development Specialist for Assessments works closely with the client, parent, SLPS, and OTS to score the 5 main areas of childhood development using play therapy.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete initial developmental assessments (BATTELLE-3) BDI-3

  • Complete summary observations and report of completed assessments

  • Collaborate with clinical teams to provide high quality services

  • Communicate with families in a professional manner and collect information

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must have a passion for working with children.

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree in education, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field is preferred

  • Must have experience completing assessments that score the five areas of developmental (Battel Developmental Inventory is a PLUS)

  • Excellent writing skills for reports

  • Experience working in a collaborative team with SLPs, OTs, BCBAs, and other staff.

  • Experience working with children with developmental delays, learning disabilities, or behavior disorders.

Basic & Physical Requirements:

  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites.

  • Valid driver’s license, proof of current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.

  • Ability to obtain DOJ background clearance.

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.

  • Ability to walk, run, and tolerate prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Willing to obtain CPR certification (Company provides upon training)
