Infant Development Program is a full-scope Early Intervention Program dedicated to providing in-home child development and therapy services to infants and toddlers aged 0-3 years, along with support for their families. Job Description - Child Development Specialist
We are seeking a committed and highly-skilled Child Development Specialist to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will provide in-home therapeutic services in the field of Early Intervention. Our services focus on infants and toddlers aged 0-3 years in their natural environment, typically their home or daycare. We primarily serve families in the San Fernando Valley area, and we are proud to be vendored with the North Los Angeles County Regional Center. Your work will focus on delivering effective, child-centered, and family-focused services that promote developmental growth and empower families. The successful candidate will possess a holistic perspective and the ability to adapt to fit the client and the home environment. Our services are offered in-home. Spanish-speaking candidates are given priority consideration, as there is a high demand for Spanish-speaking specialists.

Responsibilities
As a Child Development Specialist, your key responsibilities include:
Evaluating and monitoring infants and children from birth to age 3 to assess physical and mental development, including social, motor, self-help, cognitive, and language skills.
Documenting activities, tracking progress, and formulating therapy plans, including exercises and activities for parents to administer.
Providing parenting training and guidance while educating families on early developmental milestones and how to facilitate their child's successful achievement of those milestones.
Utilizing your previous early childhood experience (minimum 1 year) to effectively support children and families.
Requirements
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Sufficient knowledge, training, experience, and competency to effectively support children and families.
Previous early childhood experience (at least 1 year).
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Experience in areas such as child growth and development, early childhood education (birth to age 3), and family support.
Exceptional sensitivity and flexibility in dealing with cultural, linguistic, socio-economic, family dynamic, and other diverse factors.
Willingness to conduct in-home visits in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valley areas.
Possession of a reliable car, a current and valid California Driver's License and insurance CPR/First Aid certification, and strict adherence to our safety/COVID-19 protocol.
Compensation
Base Rate: $23.00 - $39.00 per hour
Mileage Reimbursement Per Mile: Used to reimburse for driven miles and is set at or around the Federal suggested rate.
Minimum Wage Per Hour: Used for Driving Time, Staff Meeting, Training, etc. The Minimum Wage is always set based on Federal, State, or Local requirements, whichever is greater.
Evaluations: Based on qualifications, Light on Path may assign higher rates for evaluations.

Our scheduling is designed to offer flexibility, allowing you to decide when you work, as long as you meet our guideline of a minimum of 15 hours per week for part-time and 33+ scheduled hours per week for full-time (not including travel time).
