RDS is a successful, growing company that has an opportunity available for a scale dispatch operator. This position presents an opportunity to work among the industries leader in both artificial intelligence robotics and recycling. RDS uses advanced robotic recycling combined with traditional methods to sort materials into pristine bales and shipped to vendors where they are remanufactured into new products.

Job Summary:

The Scale Dispatch Operator will perform various routine clerical duties to support the organization. An ideal candidate will learn industry specific software programs. Will also be proficient with MS Office, demonstrate excellent customer service and will be detail-oriented, organized multi-tasker with an exceptional attitude.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Recording inbound and outbound truck weights into TRUX software.
  • Performs clerical duties including typing, filing, and completion of simple forms.
  • Operates office machines including copiers, scanners, phones, voicemail systems, office computers, and other standard office equipment.
  • Serves as the receptionist for the office, greeting visitors and customers.
  • Answers phones, directs calls to appropriate individuals, and prepares messages.
  • Work with and assist employees with basic time clock operation. 
  • Works closely with Corporate Accounting and HR.
  • Manages calendars and schedules appointments.
  • Manage truck records (vehicle inspections, hauling permits, trailer inspections etc.).
  • Sorts incoming mail and delivers to appropriate department or individual, processes outgoing mail.
  • Manages office supply inventory.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Applicant should be comfortable with or willing to learn

Status: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt. Monday thru Friday 1:30pm until 5:30pm

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required or associate degree in office administration or related field, preferred.
  • Must be reliable and on time.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
  • Prior office work and customer service experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds at times.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen, prior to start date.
