Our Am Law 100 client is seeking a litigation paralegal. This position supports the Litigation Department practice dealing with complex litigation in Florida federal and state courts. The successful candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude and able to maintain a consistently high standard of service and leadership. The candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed. Experience with digital litigation management is required. Trial experience is expected. This is an in-office position, with the possibility for occasional remote work based on department needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in preparation for depositions, motions, hearings, arbitrations, mediation, and trial.
  • Draft motions, discovery responses, subpoenas, and other documents as necessary in accordance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Conduct discovery work, including experience with eDiscovery, document review for privilege and work product, preparation of privilege logs, document summaries, and other work required by the legal team.
  • Perform trial work, including exhibit preparation, exhibit lists, deposition designations, coordination of witnesses for testimony, attendance at trial to track evidence, preparation of war rooms, and other assistance for the trial team.
  • Perform factual research to identify relevant testimony and case documents, draft chronologies, locate potential witnesses, and provide other factual support for pertinent issues.
  • Analyze all types of evidence, distilling relevant information needed to support case issues.
  • Organize and synthesize information through the preparation of summaries, chronologies, reports, spreadsheets, charts, logs, and coding forms for input into databases, graphs, and other usable formats.

  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and set priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other paralegals and administrative assistants.
  • Proficiency in Relativity, Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365, and Adobe Pro required; experience with Filesite a plus.
  • Proficiency in other litigation support applications, including Opus 2 or LiveNote.

Qualifications & Prior Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience as a litigation paralegal in a mid to large-sized law firm required.
