The Building Technician is responsible for managing the maintenance around Kaleidoscope’s Cincinnati area offices. This role ensures repairs are addressed and managed in a timely manner with the primary objective of ensuring facilities are in excellent and safe condition at all times.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.

Facilities Management (100%)

  • Inspect facilities periodically to determine problem areas and the necessary maintenance required
  • Supervise contract tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.)
  • Perform and document regular maintenance items such as filter replacements, etc.
  • Inspect or arrange for inspection and maintenance of building systems (heating, ventilation etc.)
  • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
  • Participate in coordination of projects (e.g. renovations)
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
  • Build fixtures as needed in storage and main facilities
  • Perform repairs on items that show signs of wear (carpet, walls, paint, plumbing, electrical, lighting)
  • Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations; takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in the office
  • Manage work order process and partners with Building Engineer for prioritization of work orders
  • Takes direction from Building Engineer to complete work that meets expectations.



QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED strongly preferred; degree from a vocational school a plus
  • Professional Certifications (e.g. CMRP or HVAC certified) strongly preferred

Licenses/Credentials/Certifications

Skills/Specialized Knowledge/Abilities

  • Proven experience as maintenance technician or similar role
  • Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.)
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
  • Understanding of budgeting and performance management
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Computer competent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adeptness with all hand tools and power tools
