Job Purpose

This is a mid-level position providing support to purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing while assisting with material handler roles. This position will coordinate all shipping and receiving requests from multiple departments. Reports directly to Material Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive/Ship material and manage documentation.
  • Coordinate with shipping partners to meet delivery deadlines and keep costs competitive.
  • Track ETA for all incoming and outgoing material.
  • Coordinate with Material Team Leader and Supervisor on all incoming material.
  • Deliver material to correct locations and update system.
  • Verify all incoming material has Hyliion part number and quarantine if no Hyliion part number.
  • Assist with inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts.
  • Create and maintain parts numbers over multiple systems when necessary.
  • Train Material Handlers on shipping and receiving process for accuracy of inventory.
  • Track any KPI's that are related to shipping and receiving.
  • Assist with material handling responsibilities.

Qualifications include:

  • Education. Experience and Certifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required, course work/degree in supply chain planning, APICS or CPM preferred - applicable experience may be substituted.
  • 2-5 years' experience in inventory management, shipping and receiving.

  • Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledge of bills of materials, parent/child part relationships
    • Knowledge of shipping and receiving record keeping along with regulations.
    • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping.
    • Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
    • Understanding of standard kitting & materials presentation practices.
    • Strong Excel and data management protocols preferred.
    • Knowledge of automotive & transportation supply chain helpful preferred.
    • Basic ERP experience with NetSuite preferred.

Role Classification and Working Conditions

This is an hourly, non-exempt-level position. This position typically works in a production/assembly/engineering lab environment. Overtime may be required.

Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting using pallet jacks.
    • Exposure to varying temperatures on regular basis.
    • Office environment and warehouse space.

    • Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
    • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
