Job Description:
The Maintenance Person is expected to provide excellent customer service to all guests they encounter. Excellent service requires offering service with a smile and promoting the brand standards. This position is responsible for the ensuring all equipment is maintained and the property is in good working order to contribute to the overall positive guest experience.
Job Requirements:
- Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of equipment
- Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair, paint touch up, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs etc
- Perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms, meeting rooms and the swimming pool
- Perform minor plumbing, repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request
- Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings
- Perform miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls
- Maintain, repair and clean all guest rooms in accordance with the property room preventative maintenance procedures and standard guidelines
- Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the manager/supervisor
- Shovel snow from walks and spread salt on public walkways
- Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager
Necessary Skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff and guests of varied cultural and ethnic backgrounds
- Ability to carry out specific oral or written instructions
- Willingness and ability to adapt as necessary to meet business demands
- Focus on guest satisfaction and project this desire through positive interaction with guests
- Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to climb stairs, able to thrive in a fast-pace environment
- Must be able to use a ladder and step stool
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and 25 pounds periodically
- Must be able to pull up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Must have ability to function in humid, low-light, wet, hot, and cold environments
