The Front of House Lead is responsible for upholding all Standard Operating Procedures and Sequence of Service standards while ensuring exceptional guest experiences. This role assists in the day-to-day supervision of restaurant operations and supports employees. The Front of House Lead strives to continually support guests, the management team, and employee satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise restaurant and related areas in the absence of the location Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Follow through with programs determined by management to increase sales.
  • Monitor guests to ensure they feel welcome and receive responsive, professional, and gracious service at all times.
  • Assist with handling comps and voids in the POS system.
  • Provide positive reinforcement to all employees.
  • Address and resolve guest issues and concerns.
  • Conduct table touches and check-backs with all guests.
  • Assess business volume and make labor adjustments as necessary, minimizing overtime.
  • Follow procedures for daily invoice review, price review, ordering/receiving of products and invoices, tracking waste and spoilage, and maintaining par levels.
  • Maintain proper par levels for all controllable cost items when ordering.
  • Understand reports to track daily sales goals and weekly targets.
  • Knowledgeable of policies, procedures, and expectations detailed in the guiding principles and employee handbook.
  • Communicate any issues regarding food quality and service levels to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
  • Assist with product ordering, inventory management, scheduling changes, and related responsibilities.
  • Ensure all employees have proper supplies and uniforms.
  • Observe and reinforce compliance with all restaurant policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough pre-shift meetings.
  • Log daily activity in the Managers' Log.
  • Follow proper cash handling procedures, including cash-outs, counting banks, counting safe, and completing change orders.
  • Assist with conducting inventory and weekly ordering.
  • Monitor alcohol beverage service in compliance with local laws.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software, such as OpenTable and NCR Silver Pro.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Regular, predictable attendance.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Includes sitting at a desk or table working on a computer, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Requires vision, hearing, speech, and literacy. May involve using chemical agents or wearing protective clothing.
