Position Summary:Revere Health is seeking to recruit a Family Medicine Physician to join our Delta office in Utah. Revere Health typically attracts physicians that value a team approach to care, evidence-based medicine, self-governance and self-management. We are surrounded with the beauty of mountains. All the favorite activities enjoyed throughout the four seasons are here to enjoy. Water sports of all kinds, skiing, hiking, fishing, camping, and magnificent scenery await your photographic skills and personal delight. Delta is located in Central Utah in Millard County. We serve a large geographical region with multiple outdoor venues. Delta and its surrounding communities are a rural setting. Travel to larger cities is about 70-120 miles. Provo, the nearest metropolitan area is about 91 miles.


Essential Job Functions: 

1. Primary Care Services:

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly.
  • Conduct patient assessments through physical exams, medical history reviews, and diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and conditions.
  • Perform routine health screenings and preventive care.

2. Patient Management:

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and other treatments as necessary.
  • Manage chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and other common health issues.
  • Follow up with patients to monitor their progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

3. Women's Health Services (Optional OB Care):

Provide comprehensive women's health services, including gynecological exams, Pap smears, contraception counseling, and prenatal/postnatal care.

  • (Optional) Manage routine obstetric care, including prenatal visits, postpartum care, and education on pregnancy and childbirth.

4. Pediatric Care:

  • Offer pediatric care services, including well-child exams, vaccinations, developmental screenings, and management of pediatric illnesses and conditions.

5. Health Education and Counseling:

  • Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and chronic disease management.
  • Provide counseling on mental health issues, substance abuse, and other psychosocial concerns.

6. Procedural Skills:

  • Perform minor procedures such as suturing, wound care, incision and drainage of abscesses, and administering injections.
  • Conduct in-office diagnostic tests such as EKGs, spirometry, and point-of-care testing.

7. Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide coordinated, comprehensive care.
  • Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare providers when necessary and ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient care plans and outcomes.

8. Electronic Health Records (EHR):

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for all patient encounters, including clinical notes, orders, prescriptions, and correspondence with other healthcare providers.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices for EHR documentation and data security.

9. Community Outreach and Engagement:

  • Participate in community outreach programs, health fairs, and educational seminars to promote health and wellness within the community.
  • Engage with local organizations and community groups to address public health concerns and improve access to care.

10. Professional Development:

  • Stay current with medical knowledge and advancements through continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Maintain required certifications and licenses to practice as an advanced practice clinician in the state.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices for EHR documentation and data security.


Qualifications: 

  1. Medical Degree (MD or DO):
    • Completion of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  2. Residency Training:
    • Completion of a residency program in Family Medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  3. State Medical License:
    • Possession of a valid medical license to practice medicine in the state of Utah. This requires successful completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX), as well as meeting all state-specific licensing requirements.
  4. Board Certification in Family Medicine:
    • Board certification in Family Medicine by a recognized credentialing body such as the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP).
  5. Additional Training or Certification in Obstetrics (Optional):
    • Additional training or certification in obstetrics, including prenatal care, labor and delivery management, and postpartum care, either through residency training or post-residency fellowship programs.
  6. Experience in Rural Medicine:
    • Experience or a demonstrated interest in rural medicine, including familiarity with the unique challenges and healthcare needs of rural communities.
  7. Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  8. Commitment to Continuing Education:
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing medical education to stay abreast of advances in family medicine, obstetrics, medical technology, and best practices in rural healthcare.
  9. Adherence to Ethical and Professional Standards:
    • Adherence to ethical and professional standards of conduct, including maintaining patient confidentiality, providing compassionate and culturally sensitive care, and promoting patient autonomy and informed decision-making.
  10. Collaborative and Team-Oriented Approach:
    • Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including obstetricians, nurses, midwives, and specialists, to deliver comprehensive and coordinated care to patients in a rural setting.

 

Hours: Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm. 1/2 day/week will be spent in the hospital doing procedures, colonoscopies, EGD's, etc.

 

Additional Notes: Candidate will need to acquire local hospital privileges. Some ER call may be a possibility depending on scheduling with the local hospital.
