                                                             Next Gen Elementary Coordinator 


Summary of Position

The Elementary Coordinator oversees the ministry environment for the Kids Elementary Ministry (K-6th). This includes overseeing and ordering the resources and supplies needed for the environments, determining the classroom curriculum, and managing the volunteers for the K-3 and Preteen (4th-6th) Sunday environments. 


Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the vision, mission, and values of NextGen and MISSION Community Church to your coaches and volunteers teams
  • Champion the NextGen “lead small” movement where the Small Group Leaders (SGL) are: present, creating safe places, partnering with parents, making it personal and moving them out
  • Manage small group volunteers and coaches, this includes scheduling coaches and overseeing a master schedule of the K-6 volunteers that’s managed by the ministry coaches; communicate pertinent information to volunteers such as coach notes, plan of events, etc. 
  • Assist in ongoing recruiting efforts for K-6 volunteers as well as partner with the NextGen team on organized recruiting efforts 
  • Help maintain and care for a leadership team of ministry coaches that will support the growing team of volunteers in this ministry
  • Onboard and offboard all K-6 volunteers 
  • Collaborate with facilities team and resource team to ensure environments are clean and spotless, and to ensure effective delivery of curriculum, supplies and resources
  • Maintain clear, effective and consistent communication to elementary coaches and volunteers in conjunction with larger NextGen leadership communication strategies
  • Lead curriculum planning efforts and coordinate curriculum preparation with the resource team
  • Plan and organize regular gatherings (care and training) for coaches and volunteer teams in elementary
  • Lead and develop elementary coaches to successfully lead their volunteer teams
  • Participate in select church-wide/NextGen functions, events and meetings as needed and required 
  • Lead and support preteen specific events throughout the year, including summer camp in conjunction with kids pastor
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager


Primary Work Schedule:

  • Part-Time Position (20-24 hours)
  • Primarily Sunday-Wednesday (some flexibility)
