The Housekeeping Inspector ensures that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. They inspect the work of the housekeeping staff, provide feedback, and ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting Guest Rooms: Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms to ensure they meet cleanliness and presentation standards. Check for dust, debris, proper bed-making, and cleanliness of bathrooms and amenities.

  • Inspecting Public Areas: Review the cleanliness and maintenance of public areas such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms.

  • Supervising Housekeeping Staff: Oversee the work of housekeeping attendants to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to standards. Provide guidance and training as needed.

  • Reporting: Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed in guest rooms or public areas to the maintenance department. Keep accurate records of inspections, including areas needing improvement.

  • Inventory Control: Monitor the usage of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities. Ensure that housekeeping carts and storage areas are well-stocked and organized.

  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all housekeeping activities comply with health and safety regulations. Report any hazards or safety concerns immediately.

  • Guest Interaction: Address any guest complaints or requests regarding housekeeping services promptly and professionally.

  • Training: Assist in training new housekeeping staff and provide ongoing coaching to ensure consistent service quality.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the housekeeping manager and other departments to ensure smooth operations and high guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role, preferably in a supervisory or inspection capacity.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify cleanliness issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety standards.
  • Ability to handle physical demands, including standing, walking, and lifting.
Working Conditions:
  • Requires working on weekends, holidays, and day and evening shifts.
  • Involves physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
