Galaxy Brain and Therapy Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Social Worker to join our dynamic healthcare team at Galaxy Brain and Therapy Center. This position will help expand our existing Mental Health Department. The Clinical Social Worker will provide individual and group psychotherapy services to patients with diverse mental health and psychosocial needs within a clinical setting. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions to support patients in achieving optimal mental health outcomes.

Galaxy Brain and Therapy Center is an outpatient neurological therapy clinic and wellness center. We are devoted to helping our clients live their best lives. Our team consists of exceptional occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, social workers, mindfulness and meditation instructors, and massage therapists. Our therapists are highly trained in evidence-based techniques that help our clients find joy and independence again on their path to recovery from injury or illness. Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments to evaluate patients' mental health, emotional well-being, and social functioning.
  • Collaborate with patients to establish treatment goals and develop individualized care plans that address their unique needs, strengths, and preferences.
  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapy interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based therapy, and supportive counseling.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on topics such as stress management and adjustment, coping skills, interpersonal relationships, and emotional regulation.
  • Monitor patients' progress throughout the course of therapy, regularly assessing treatment efficacy and modifying interventions as needed.
  • Coordinate care with other members of the interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, massage therapists, and mindfulness and meditation instructors.
  • Document all clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including supervision, peer consultation, and continuing education, to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.



Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed in the State of Michigan as a Social Worker (LLMSW or LMSW).
  • Clinical experience providing psychotherapy services to individuals with mental health disorders, trauma histories, and/or complex psychosocial needs.
  • Excellent clinical skills in conducting individual and group therapy sessions, including strong therapeutic rapport-building, active listening, and empathy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and families.
  • Commitment to cultural competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion in mental health practice.
  • Adherence to ethical principles and professional standards of conduct in clinical practice.
  • Training and experience in using evidence-based therapies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with clients who have experienced neurological events such as a traumatic brain injury, stroke, seizures, etc.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations, including individuals from underserved communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience working with clients who are in the process of rehabilitation.
