REQUIRED TRAVEL: 40% domestic and international travel

REQUIRED HOURS: Full-time.

REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer

REQUIRED DUTIES:

  • Facilitate the design of high-performance actives and natural ingredient-based technologies for specific consumer needs that are currently unmet.
  • Oversee two product segments – natural synergy products and smart natural ingredients – leading overall business development plan and growth strategy across all consumer benefit segments.
  • Work with the Protein and Preservative Business Managers to develop an “integrated product portfolio” based on consumers’ needs.
  • Develop a technology and innovation pipeline based on consumer benefit platforms, working with Research & Development and Category Marketing Managers.
  • Attend scientific meetings as necessary to determine new trends in the product lines, review competition and introduce/promote products at trade show booths. Deliver presentations on new developed technologies as required.
  • Work with Category Marketing Managers and other stakeholders to develop a ‘go to market’ strategy and create and implement a deployment plan to achieve growth and margin targets, including implementation of pricing models, portfolio management, and customer projects.
  • Lead the development of innovative, solid, profitable, and consumer-driven business plans by applying understanding of natural synergy products and smart natural ingredients.
  • Manage the product portfolio based on technical reviews, competitor analysis, market and sales data, and consumer surveys.
  • Work with Category Marketing Managers to ensure successful product introduction launches and promotional activities and provide input on global market needs.
  • Coordinate with Principals to facilitate an understanding of the pipeline of innovations in the natural synergy products and smart natural ingredients product segments and their marketing strategies.
  • Manage the financial forecasts, demand forecasts, cost reduction initiatives, market/competitive intelligence, business process improvement, and tactical marketing activities for the product lines.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and distributors to achieve maximized sales opportunities for various active ingredients.
  • Support the sales and promotion of the product portfolio by visiting customers and distributors along with account managers.
  • Support the implementation and manufacturing scale up of any new developed technologies.


EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field (foreign equivalent is acceptable) and a Master’s degree in Business, or a closely related field (foreign equivalent is acceptable) plus 3 years of employment experience in business development and product solutions in the personal care industry. Employment experience must include:

  • Demonstrated employment experience achieving sales targets and developing and executing sales growth strategies.
  • Demonstrated employment experience overseeing product lines and working with internal teams to optimize revenue generation and ensure successful product delivery.
  • Demonstrated employment experience working with chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated employment experience working with specialty ingredients for the personal care industry.
  • Demonstrated employment experience managing customers and distributors within the personal care industry.
  • Demonstrated employment experience delivering technical presentations at international technical events or tradeshows.
