The Case Manager plays a critical role in coordinating intakes and discharges with Children’s Administration, law enforcement, and youth and families. They provide direct case management support to CRC (Crisis Response Center) youth in care, oversee short-term treatment plans, and work towards reunification for self-referred CRC participants. Additionally, the Case Manager ensures quality training, supervises shifts, and maintains policy adherence, contributing to overall team well-being and service availability.
About Us: CYS has been a cornerstone in downtown Olympia for over 50 years, offering a wide range of services to at-risk youth and their families. As the largest child welfare agency in southwest Washington, we pride ourselves on a staff-driven culture that values our team as our greatest asset.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in social work or related field; or four years’ full-time work experience directly working with, managing, or overseeing vulnerable populations in a related field.
- Willingness to participate in the program call rotation as defined by the program director, contributing to better incident resolution, continuous service availability, and overall team well-being.
Client Service:
- Provide leadership by positive role modeling and address staff performance issues.
- Plan shift schedules to ensure timely transportation for participants.
- Supervise daily youth activities, delegate assignments, and maintain policy adherence.
- Record significant interactions, develop treatment plans, and write objective Discharge Summaries.
- Offer individual and group counseling to residents.
- Provide supervision and behavior management support.
- Inform the Clinical Case Manager and Program Director of significant behaviors.
- Handle incident reports and crisis liaison duties.
- Participate in the weekly on-call duty rotation.
Case Management:
- Coordinate emergent intakes and planned discharges.
- Partner with CRC youth to create short-term treatment plans.
- Facilitate reunification for self-referred CRC participants.
- Identify youth needs and make referrals.
- Schedule necessary appointments and maintain resident case records.
Typical Work Schedule:
- Typical schedule: 40 hours per week, 2 pm to 10 pm including weekends to ensure that case management can occur outside traditional business hours.
- Call rotation, one week at a time. Approximately once per month at the discretion of the Program Director.

Agency Qualifications:
- Successfully clear a thorough background check with no history of causing harm, particularly to children or vulnerable adults.
- Maintain a clean criminal record, demonstrating professional and personal integrity.
- Hold a valid Washington State Driver's License with at least five years of driving experience and a good driving record for the past three years.
- Provide proof of auto insurance with coverage of $100,000 or more.
- Show cultural sensitivity and the ability to respond to the diverse needs of the organization’s community.
- Acquire CPR/1st Aid/Bloodborne Pathogen certification within 30 days of employment (required before starting some positions).
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
