SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Linux Systems Administrator who can take initiative and manage their projects from inception to completion. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Linux Administrator at Heritage Auctions, you will be responsible for the following: (The duties listed below are intended only as representations of the essential functions of this position.   • Administer RHEL, CentOS, and other Linux servers.
  • Improve IT capabilities and efficiency through advanced monitoring and automation.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning using the latest tools and systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance our knowledge base and IT support infrastructure.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot security-related issues and anomalies in information systems using advanced security platform reports, network traffic data, log files, and automated security alerts.
Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years' experience managing IT infrastructure and support.
  • 3+ years' experience with CentOS / Red Hat / Scientific Linux or Debian / Ubuntu.
  • Experience with supporting and troubleshooting stability and performance issues.
  • Experience with infrastructure-based processes: Monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, asset management, and disaster recovery.
  • A strong working knowledge of networking fundamentals.
  • The tenacity to troubleshoot intermittent performance issues up to the application level.

Experience or certification with the following technologies is also highly desirable:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 7, 8, and 9.
  • Containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • VMware
  • Nvidia AI Enterprise
  • Checkmk
